Salt Lake
Salt crystals are deposited onto the lake surface as rainwater evaporates.

Grading
When the surface of the lake is dry, the salt is graded into rows for harvesting.

Harvesting
Large harvesters pick up the salt from the surface of the lake and deposit it into trucks.

Stockpile
A large stockpile has been established at Koolyanobbing, which is added to at every harvest.

Washing Plant
Salt from the Koolyanobbing lake is processed through a washing plant.

Rail Transport
The salt is transported to the Fremantle site by rail in containers designated for salt traffic only.
